What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is the second largest and fastest growing healing profession in the world today. Taking an "inside-out" approach to healing, chiropractic care allows the body to heal itself from within. It is a natural, non-invasive form of primary health carethat focuses on the spine and nervous system based on the fact that many health disorders are caused by nerve interferences in the body. The most common cause of nerve interference is a serious, but common condition known as "Vertebral Subluxation".
What do Chiropractors do?
Chiropractors locate and correct "Vertebral Subluxations" (misalignments) with gentle and controlled "Spinal Adjustments" improving the mobility, alignment and overall health of the spine and the function of the nervous system. In other words, chiropractors are not simply "back doctors", but are "nerve specialists". Regular spinal check-ups maintain your spine in optimal health and prevent long-term spinal malfunction and degeneration.
What is a Subluxation?
A subluxation is a misalignment of one or more vertebrae of the spine, causing irritation to the spinal cord and nerves that exit the spine between the vertebrae. When nerves become irritated, it interrupts the flow of nerve impulses between the brain and body, causing malfunction in the cells, tissues and organs of the body.
What Causes Subluxations?
Subluxations can be caused by poor or changing posture, physical or emotional stress, car accidents (trauma), slips and falls, strenuous exercise or even the birthing process itself.
What is a Spinal Adjustment?
A chiropractic adjustment is a high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust that is directed to a vertebrae and designed to restore mobility and alignment to the joints of the spine while remove interference and pressure from the nervous system.
